EXTRINSIC
ekˈstrinzik
In my universe, extrinsic subjects are human-made artifacts.
Each of these kaleidoscopic works will have an origin story and my artistic response to the
intrinsic qualities of the object (paradox intended).
I find photographs of architecture, mechanical objects, or any high-gloss surface will produce interesting results. For the works presented here that originate from vintage vehicles, I was in Scottsdale, AZ, at the 2016 Barrett-Jackson Auction and was captivated by all the chrome from a bygone era. Under the spotlights the colorful high-gloss surfaces presented a multi-verse of reflections.
I hope you enjoy the adventure as much as I did.
